Special Issue:

Experiencing Self in a Global Context: Being a First Generation College Student in the World

We are now calling for submissions of essays, poetry, and photo narratives that reflect critically on the autoethnographic and transcultural experience from a Study Abroad course by students in the TRIO Student Support Services and Ronald E. McNair Scholars Programs. Your submission could stem from a study abroad experience during the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 academic years.

Essays should be no less than 3500 words and no more than 5000 words.

Poetry should be single-spaced, with double spaces between stanzas. If you are submitting more than one poem, each poem should be on a separate page.

Photo-narratives should follow a creative process whereby all written portions of your submission should be in 12-point type, with at least one-inch margins, and your pages should be sequentially numbered.

As a general rule, all works should be in MLA formatting style.

Submissions will be accepted through June 30, 2024.
