Abstract

Three new coordination polymers containing 2-(4-pyridyl)thiazole-4-carboxylate (pytac=C9H5N2O2S) and zinc or silver have been synthesized solvothermally, isolated, and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, powder X-ray diffraction, and thermogravimetric analysis. ZnF(pytac)·(H2O) (1), which crystallizes in the space group Fdd2, a=14.7252(12) Å, b=45.925(4) Å, c=6.1678(5) Å and Zn(pytac)2·(H2O)4.3 (2), which crystallizes in the space group P21/c, a=12.923(3) Å, b=17.763(4) Å, c=9.902(2) Å, β=100.762(5)°, contain sheets that in the case of (1) are connected into a 3D assembly via hydrogen bonding, while Ag(pytac)·H2O (3), which crystallizes in the chiral space group P212121, a=7.0373(5) Å, b=10.4399(7) Å, c=13.3105(9) Å, forms a channel-containing 3D (10,3)-a chiral framework.
