Abstract
Single crystals of a series of lanthanide lithium iridium oxides, Ln2LiIrO6 (Ln=La, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu) with the double perovskite structure have been grown from molten LiOH/KOH fluxes. The compounds crystallize in a distorted 1:1 rock salt lattice of Li+ and Ir5+ cations in the monoclinic space group P21/n. The magnetic susceptibilities of Ln2LiIrO6 (Ln=Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu) are presented.
