Abstract
Single crystals of Na2NdGeO4(OH) were grown out of a molten sodium hydroxide flux and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction. Na2NdGeO4(OH) crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnma with a = 9.4373(3) Å, b = 7.4448(2) Å, c = 6.9236(2) Å, V = 486.44(2) Å3, and Z = 4. The compound exhibits a three-dimensional crystal structure consisting of corner- and edge-shared NdO8, GeO4, and NaO7 polyhedra. The Nd3+ cation is observed in a distorted square antiprismatic coordination environment.
