Abstract
This paper is an analysis of different case studies in medical ethics in the 20th and 21st century. The case studies are divided into three different categories of a human life: beginning of life, middle of life, and the end of life. Each of these chapters includes a little excerpt about a person named Jane as she goes through each stage of her life. This merely serves to humanize the topics covered a little more. The beginning of life covers topics such as abortion and eugenics and discusses court cases and ethical dilemmas surrounding them. The middle of life covers broader topics, such as human experimentation and informed consent, and references ethical scandals and related topics like bodily autonomy. The end of life talks about euthanasia/physician-assisted suicide and the prolongment of life, covering various laws and moral codes that surround death.
