Abstract

This library exhibition for the bicentenary of Carlyle's death, covering the whole of his career, was chiefly drawn from the Rodger L. Tarr Collection. The exhibition text was chiefly written by Patrick Scott, in collaboration with Roger Mortimer, in the mezzanine exhibition gallery, Thomas Cooper Library, in October-December 1995. The exhibition was mounted for the Victorians Institute conference, and the catalogue archived here was funded by the Thomas Cooper Society.
