Abstract
Integrated photonic circuits represent a promising avenue for advancing computing capabilities by replacing electrons with photons as information carriers. This transition necessitates a comprehensive and innovative approach as the well understood requirements for electronic circuits are replaced by the needs of photonic circuits. This work will discuss topological photonics and one of many recent successes in their use to create near scatter free states. This work will then discuss progress towards creating an electromechanical platform using polyvinylidene difluoride [(C2H2F2)n], the platform’s benefits, and how the platform has been tested. This platform would have the potential to create reconfigurable photonic circuits, improve the tunability of nanoscale plasmonic devices, and act as a testbed for the novel states created by topological photonics.
