Interview begins with Robert Murphy’s childhood in upstate New York, to his enlistment in the Marine Corps at age 19, his 20+ year career in the Marines from 1982-2004, which includes duty in North Carolina, Japan, various places in the Middle East, Washington D.C., and Afghanistan. and his subsequent return to college at USC Aiken and his appointment as Director of the VMSSC.
