Abstract
Since its inception in 2022, NIL values within the NCAA have soared, leading players who were able to enter the transfer portal to seek opportunities at other universities with potentially bigger NIL trusts. In a previously conducted study by Brown and Jennings (2024), the authors examined the relationship between playing time and NIL valuations, controlling for gender, within the Southeastern Conference alone. Building upon the Brown and Jennings model, the researchers in this study are seeking to broaden the scope and add the athletes' represented universities within the Power 4 conferences (focusing on top 100 NIL values) as an additional independent variable. This extension to the established model investigates whether a relationship exists between playing time and university representation while controlling for gender.
